Raise your hand if you've ever thought or said something like this, Fuzz! Well, taking care of curly hair could be "complicated" but it is definitely the start of something special, especially for you who just started your curly hair journey.

Curly hair is special. Something special needs a "special treatment" too. But no worries, we're here to help you turn the hard and complicated thing to be easy, even for a newbie. Here is the Cheat Sheet that you need to take care of your curly hair.

BRUSH TIMING IS IMPORTANT

Brushing your hair when it's dry can break your curl pattern, so you better brush it when it's damp before you use styling products. If you want to brush your hair when it's dry, only do it before you wash your hair to detangle it.

MOISTURE & DAMP HAIR ARE KEYS

When it comes to curly hair, moisture is everything! Because when your hair is moisturized, your curl pattern will be shaped too. Using a leave-in conditioner like Curl Power Air Style Primer will help moisturize your hair. Don't forget to apply it on damp hair because every styling product will work best in this condition!

LEARN HOW TO SCRUNCH

Scrunch is one of the techniques to bring out your curls. Fun fact, this is the easiest technique you can try -- simply gently squeeze your damp hair from the bottom towards the root and you're done! For maximum results, you can also use Curl Power Shape and Bounce Cream or Curl Power Define and Hold Gel as styling products beforehand.

THROW YOUR USUAL TOWEL

The thing about curly hair is, we can say it's more "fragile" than straight hair. Curly hair is prone to frizziness and rubbing off a towel to your hair can easily do that. To avoid this, you better change your towel into a microfiber towel that has softer material. If you don't have one, simply use your t-shirt! Also, remember to gently pat your hair with it.

GET USED TO AIR DRY OR DIFFUSER

Using a hair dryer especially in high temperatures can make your hair dry and frizzy, hence making the curl lose its pattern. Thus, you better use a diffuser, an attachment for your hair dryer that helps distribute the air to dry your hair without making it frizzy. However, if you don't have a diffuser or don't want to invest in it yet, air drying your hair can be a good option, too.

That's basically the five basic things you need to know to start taking care of your curly hair. If you still have some questions to ask, don't hesitate to knock our DM on Instagram or TikTok -- @bobandfrou because that's what BOB & FROU are for! Good luck on your curly hair journey, Fuzz :)
